John Clayton was born and raised on a farm in Poweshiek County. Now, he’s a farmer on this same family farm. He calls the town of Brooklyn his home.

What makes Clayton a unique leader in this campaign race? He is a member of the LGBTQ+ community; a farmer; his service to The United States of America as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer; has been a teacher union chairperson; a teachers’ union field representative; a teacher for twenty-seven years listening and leading students—both in public and private schools, a past elected Poweshiek County Soil and Water Commissioner, an active member in several public-good organizations that advocate for climate action, and as a church member adhering to the teachings about climate change in the Papal document, Laudato Si.

Clayton isn’t like the typical Democratic nor Republican candidate in Poweshiek County. Those current candidates address climate action with a mix of general bs, denial, go slow, and doubt. John is ready to serve the public, work with others, and deliver on climate action as a county supervisor.

In this endeavor, please vote for Clayton as supervisor November 5, 2024.
